SuperMD – Adolescent mental health

Don’t let their struggle become their identity.

Teenagers have mental health struggles too. Unlike adults, they may not know how to express themselves or even know their mental health issues can be solved. Without any outlets to talk about these things, many embody their mental struggles and make it their identity later on in life.

“What can I do as a parent?”

With multiple factors such as internet use and escapism during lockdowns, the stress of not being able to go to school to meet friends, social isolation due to the rise of mobile phone usage, it is possible your teenager could be suffering from mental health disorders. Look out for these symptoms.

  • changes in sleep
  • new onset of guilt
  • changes in energy level
  • changes in concentration or task completion
  • changes in appetite
  • changes in motivation
  • thoughts of suicide
